Operation Christmas Child 2016 Shoebox Campaign Update
Dear shoebox friend
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I am delighted to report that the Bristol North Warehouse processed 7890 shoeboxes this year. Our shoeboxes along with 1305 from the Bristol South Depot made a total of 9195 shoeboxes which were sent to children in Lusaka, Zambia.
The good news is that our numbers are actually up on last year(we had 8033 last year, however 500 of those came from another depot for us to process, so from our area we actually had 7533). This means we are up by 357 this year which is fantastic.
A huge thank you comes from the Bristol North Team to everyone who contributed to this campaign by donating boxes, transporting them to St Chads, checking them, knitting, baking, providing chocolates, helping out at the depot, gathering items throughout the year for top ups and lots of other ways, too numerous to list. All of this effort was finished off with a fantastic team (which included some of the Chipping Sodbury Rugby Club Team and staff from QBE and Carefutures) loading 888 cartons onto a lorry on Friday 25th November which was sent on its way with a prayer from Jenny.
I would aslo like to thank you all for your hard work, good humour and endless support this year. I feel very blessed to be working with such an amazing team, without whom all of this would not be possible. We have played a very big part in bringing great joy and love in Jesus' name to lots of children - well done!
